Formulating to analysis is the quickest way to generate a blend. The analysis requested is entered in such as ‘160-70-70-5S.’ The Blending program formulates products to meet the nutrient goal based on the selected Product Set.
The analysis requested might be a specific request from the customer or the company preference based on known field conditions. Nutrient recommendations generated in Planning and saved to the field file or those downloaded from a soil lab and saved may also be used to formulate an analysis.
The analysis can be entered in one of two ways:
- Lbs of Plant Food: This is pounds of nutrient per acre. For a liquid blend, the % Water, Water Rate/Acre, or Minimum Gal/Acre entered at the Product Set determines the amount of water used. A Suspension type Product Set gives a warning if the requested analysis will exceed the suspension blend target %. When the Blend is set to a given salt out temperature, the warning asks if water is to be added to lower the sum of the guaranteed analysis to be less than this suspension target %.
- Guaranteed Analysis: This is pounds of nutrient per 100 Lbs of requested blend of product. When using guaranteed analysis, the program automatically adds water or dry filler to reach the desired analysis. If formulating by Tons, the Lbs of Analysis defaults to 2000 Lbs/Ton. If a filler product is not used, the requested analysis may not be met.
