There are three services associated with MSSQL. Each service listed in the Services list needs to be running. As the Services are selected, the window will show the status to the right of the screen. The Automatic setting will cause the service to automatically start on boot-up of the server on all supported operating systems except WIN 98. The Manual setting will only start the service when starting the dependent program needing that service to run. The Delayed Start setting is the same as the Automatic setting, but it will delay the startup until all other Automatic Services have started.
If the Services are not showing with a Running status, right-click on the Service and select Start if it’s showing the Stopped status or Restart to Power Cycle.
