Q. A chelated micronutrient claims to have a 4:1 efficiency factor. How can a per acre request for 1 lb of nutrient factor in the efficiency for the result?
A. This scenario can be handled by an adjustment to the Item Information.
Note: One item to consider is that if this adjustment is made to chelated item(s), the product will formulate in the program according to the efficiency factor but will also indicate a final guaranteed analysis higher than what it will test by an inspector if a sample of the blend is pulled.
The following example uses 10% Chelated Zinc.
Edit the item and change the Chelated Zinc analysis from 10% to 40%, and save the changes. Now, when formulating for 1 lb of Chelated Zinc, only 0.25 lb of Chelated Zinc is added.
